So let’s chat about some stuff for a minute. Here is one of my biggest complaints about working in retail…
So my job as a retail store manager is to know the policies that my company has and enforce them. Here’s where the problem is: the customers (sometimes). I will say that I may not always agree with all of the policies that are in place but, again it is my job to enforce them. Policies and rules for situations are written for a reason, whether or not I agree with them doesn’t matter.
When I explain the policy to a customer I am just doing my job and I don’t need or deserve the backlash that I get. All of a sudden I go from the good guy to the asshole in 2 seconds and I never changed my demeanor towards the customer. So why do I get all the shit for it? I can explain it until I get blue in the face that I do not write the policies I just uphold them and yet I am still yelled at and called names.
So this is what I want to say to you assholes that I’m talking about. You all suck at life! You need to clean out your damn ears and pay attention to the statement, “I don’t make the rules, I just uphold them.” If you don’t like the rules or feel that they aren’t fair then make a complaint to the appropriate people. When the manager states that it’s out of their control, just ask for the contact number for the person to talk to about it.
Don’t take your frustrations out on the middle man, go to the chief! –Assholes!

Anyone watch the VMA’s?
This sack of shit Kanye West had the nerve to get up during someone else’s acceptance speech and shout out some dumb shit. Here are all the problems with what happened.
1. Dude you can’t be elected for a female award.
2. Beyonce can’t be nominated for a female award.
3. How are you going to do that to someone as innocent as Taylor Swift, are you feeling bad about the size of your…..??
4. It doesn’t make you cool to disrespect a female. It makes you a shit head!
5. You can’t cover up your stupid ass hair cut with going hard on a little girl. You still look like a bitch.
6. Why did you try to stand up for someone else’s girl? Dude you don’t have anywhere near enough money to talk to Beyonce. Jay-Z wipes his ass with your yearly income on a daily basis.
7. Being all hard and shit on MTV doesn’t cover up the fact that your music sucks and your last album was a waste of manufacturing resources.
I could go on but, you get the point. This asshole Kanye is a fucking douche bag.

So I wanted to take a minute and talk about the power of social networking devices. We all know what I mean by these…myspace, facebook, loopt, etc… The one that has impressed me the most though is Twitter. Reason being, it’s the most simplistic but, the largest growing. Anyways to get on with my story…..
Tara and I decided that we were going to Victory Brewing Co. In Downingtown, Pa with some friends for my birthday. I was stoked about this because the place is awesome and because we don’t go out much because we are both busy. Anyways, so I was making posts about this the day prior on Twitter and Victory is following me on there. Now let me tell you that I do not know anyone that works there and before my bday I had only been there once before.
Long story short, when we arrived there for diner and some drinks there was a sign hanging beside the door that said Happy Birthday with my Twitter username. This made my day even better.
The power of a social networking device is amazing!

So I need to rant about something really quick:
Let’s talk about “Greetings.” Greetings in the sense of walking into a store and the associate “Greeting.” You know, when people say to you as you walk in, “Hey, how are you?” Or “Hello, how are you today?” Or something like that.
Anyways, the point that I am trying to get to here is that these “greetings” are supposed to spark reactions a.k.a. answers to the questions that you are asked as you walk in. Since, when surveyed more than 75% of people said that they want to be talked to as soon as they walk in the door of store.
So here’s my problem, why the hell do people react in such harsh and disrespectful ways when they are politely greeted. People look at you in the most hateful ways, it’s like I just called you mother a slut or something. I mean damn, all I said to you was, “Hey man, what’s up? How’s your day going?”
Or here’s the part that really pisses me off, when I get ignored. What I want to say then is “Bitch, did you hear, I just said hi, stop being ignorant and answer me mother f#*ker. Didn’t your mother teach you any better? Or does somebody need to smack the $h!t out of you?”
And here is the last complaint…why the hell do people shop with their iPod headphones on? Is it so you don’t get greeted when you walk into a store? If so, then why the f#ck do you get so mad when people ignore you and start helping someone else?
Yup…had to let that out.

Oh man, it’s the best and the worst time of the year for Sneaker Retail………..
It’s the dreaded and wonderful Back To School era!
Mixed emotions about this time of year, it’s super busy and the store sales are through the roof, but with the rise in the sales comes the increase of mean people. Anyone that has worked in retail knows exactly what I mean.
Well this year so far, the good has beaten the bad. All I can hope for is that it stays this way for the next 2 weeks and that I can get through this. It’s the time when I am put to the test. All I can say to myself is “persevere!”
I will get through it, I always do.

The Tour de France started 2 days ago and the day before that I was reading through some things that were posted on Twitter. I came across this post from Lance Armstrong. It was a link to an articlethat ESPN.com had posted. The article was talking about some things that a lady in France had said about Lance. This lady, who is the head of the Anti-Doping committee in France, said that Lance would be under strict watch while competing in the Tour de France.
So I say to her, “Fuck you, you’re a bitch!”
So just because the man is really good at what he does, now he has to be under watch from the Anti-Doping committee. Lets think about what drives this man…a countless number of people who have cancer and his commitment to do what ever he can to find a cure. I mean when you make a bold statement like “I will find a way to cure cancer,” don’t you think that you would work your ass off to make that come true? That’s a huge responsibility to make and one would have to become almost super human to achieve it. He has just found the way to do it and it just so happens to be through the sport of cycling. France get off his back and just watch him win another one!!! You’re just pissed because your little French jerk offs aren’t going to win.
So I dedicate this post to a great man named Lance Armstrong, you are truly a hero to many and respected by many more! Keep it up!
LIVESTRONG LANCE!!!!! AMERICA IS ON YOUR SIDE!!!!!

Found an old CD today that was just a compilation of old songs that I liked a few years back so I decided to take it with me in the car. While listening to it I came across a song by Cypress Hill called “Illusions.”
The greatest part of this song are the opening few bars. They are:
“Some people tell me that I need help. Some people can fuck off and got to hell. God damn why they criticize me, now shit’s on the rise and my family despise me.”
This is so powerful to me. Well my family really doesn’t despise me but, they probably don’t agree with everything that I have done in my life. The part that I relate to the most is the first 2 sentences.
Why do people need to over analyze other people and try to control the way that they think and the way that they act. Who the fuck cares? I mean why can’t people be free to think, write, say, and express what they are thinking or what they are feeling?
I write this to elaborate on a previous post titled “Freedom of Expression”. I just want to make it clear again that people should be allowed to do or say what they want. Others shouldn’t be out there trying to stop people from expressing themselves in what ever manner it may be.
Instead of trying to stop me from writing or talking shit about what I write, why don’t you just express your views and thoughts about things in your own way. You may find out that we agree about something or you may find out that there are others out there that agree with you. You can make new friends or new connections through expressing yourself and being true to yourself.
So “fuck off and go to hell’ if you are trying to silence me.
Props to you if you are speaking up and not being backed down by others.

Another problem with retail…
Me: “Hey, how are y’all doing today?”
Customer: “I’m just looking!”
I get this all the time. Listen here bitches, I asked you how you were doing not what are you doing. What the fuck is wrong with people? You don’t have to instantly go into defense mode as soon as I greet you. We aren’t trying to sell to you as soon as you walk in the door. Believe it or not, our company’s policy is to make the customer feel welcome and not to attack them with sales tactics. Also, contrary to what you might think, I really would like to know how you are doing whether it be good or bad and I would like to talk to you about something other than shoes. I work with shoes all day and collecting shoes is one of my hobbies outside of work so, talking to you about something other than shoes would be nice!
Please learn how to answer the question “how are you doing today” with something other than “I’m just looking.”

I’ve gotten some negative feedback on some of the things that I have written on here by more than one person. Guess what?? I don’t care. Remember that I live in the good ol’ USA and I can say (or write about) whatever I want. Got to love those amendments that give me the Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of Expression. Man this country is great, I can say whatever I want and people can get mad about it all they want, but that’s about all they can do. No one has the right to stop me from speaking out about anything, this shit is great.
So to those of you who have gotten upset about some of the things that I have written, I say to you, “Oh fuckin’ well, get the fuck over it!” “You will not silence me or my thoughts.”
